Blindead have been at it for a decade now, releasing their fourth full-length studio album entitled "absense" (intended to be lower case). This offering is very reminiscent to me of some of the classic work done by Kyuss, on such albums as "Welcome to Sky Valley". Lots of good riffs al the way through the album, with a variety of sounds mixed in to keep things interesting, including a nice horn piece played on the track "c7". The band does a nice job of mixing tempos and styles throughout as well. Now, I will say that this CD did take a little while to grow on me. It's funky, experimental, and mixes such a variety of metal genres that I can't imagine finding a metal fan that couldn't find something to like about it.
